The steel industry had experienced the most difficult time for many years in 2015 due to sluggish world economy, bloated excess capacity and plummeting steel prices. What will the industry look like in 2016 and during the 13th Five-Year Plan period? Where will the Chinese steel export be heading with cropping up trade frictions around the globe? How will steel mills manage to rebalance production with shrinking and changing demand?
With the support of the major regional steel associations including ASEAN Iron and Steel Council, Korean Steel Association, Japan Iron and Steel Federation, Eurofer, Steel Manufacturers Association and American Institute for International Steel, the 14th International Steel Market and Trade Conference, will again bring together leaders and experts of the Chinese and the world steel industries, to answer these questions and share their insights on market and price trends.
With the participation of all major Chinese steel enterprises, by their senior executives for marketing and export, steel traders and steel buyers, plus the concurrent business matching arrangements at Lecong Steel World, the world’s largest steel trading center, the conference will be a unique place to locate reliable Chinese steel suppliers and buyers.
Serving as an official platform for CISA to release its annual review and forecast of the Chinese steel market, a vehicle for information exchange and dialogue between CISA and its counterparts around the world, and most importantly a window for the Chinese steel industry to understand the world and the world steel community to understand China, the Steel Market and Trade Conference has been successfully convened for 13 times since its establishment in 2000 and has become one of the most important steel events in the world.
